His debut album Black Sky, out now via ABC Music, was produced by Drew in partnership with Ben Robertson, and serves as a public acknowledgment to those Australians who inhabit rural areas and endure the hardships that often accompany living on the land. It's a subject that is very close to his heart, due to the origin of Drew's parents rooted firmly in country Australia.
As he says in conversation with ABC Music: “It seems that at any given time in Australia’s history drought has had its claws firmly embedded within our Outback culture... I’m not on a farm, but I can see that the devastation drought causes is not going away any time soon”.
Though inspired by some of the harshest times in a rural Australia life, this album is full of optimism, hope and classic country tunes from one of our finest homegrown stars.
