Born in the US but raised in Australia, Jared Porter has a unique but familiar modern country sound that can be traced all the way back through his childhood. Listening to oldies rock, country and blues with his dad to alternative rock of the new millennium has all played a vital roll in developing this sound. Gaining inspiration from singers like Gary Levox (Rascal Fats), Billy Currington, Marc Cohn and Jon Forman (Switchfoot), his voice has the familiar tone of many of those who have gone before him, yet a recognisable sound that stamps Jared Porter. The experiences through his unique and at many times tough life have played a part in the development of this up-and-coming singer-songwriter, and in turn his new modern sound.
