After 12 years behind the microphone for Good Morning Country, longstanding Tuesday presenter Rod Thomas has made the decision to step back from the show to focus on other activities:

“I'm very proud of the way that GMC has developed over the last 12 years. We've added outside broadcasts from Mildura and Tamworth, visited many community radio stations and increased the audience reach of the program and so introducing country music to many new listeners. We've helped the career of many new artists, extended the careers of established musicians and provided pleasure to many audience members.”

We certainly agree. As well as his work on-air, Rod has worked hard behind the scenes and has been integral to its growth, from the period of critical development in 2007-2008 when the program solidified its format and line-up, through to the addition of festival broadcasts and station visits as mentioned above. During this period he has also managed to work as station manager of Chatswood's FM99.3, Hornsby's Triple H FM, and contribute to Manning Valley's 2BOB Radio.

We’ll miss Rod and his work on the show, and wish him all the best for the future.

If you have a message for Rod send it through to us at crn@cbaa.org.au and we’ll make sure it reaches him.
