A true gentleman and former broadcaster with Sydney stations 2SER, 2SSR and 2RDJ, Bob was an original founder of Good Morning Country in 2000 and the show’s first Program Manager. Having previously presented the five-hour CRN overnight program ‘Australia Country Wide’, Bob was a dedicated Country music fan who was inducted into the Australian Country Music Broadcasters Hall Of Fame in 2004.
“I guess I play more Australian Country music, but I do like some the American songs too,” he admitted in a recent GMC article in the sector magazine CBX. “I prefer the older style, the kind of songs that bring back memories for people,” related Bob.
“I recently played an oldie, ‘Dark Moon’ by Bonnie Guitar, and a listener phoned up crying because that song was his late wife’s favourite. It really touched him to hear it again.”
Having only returned to GMC in July 2013 after a long break, Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew him and enjoyed his excellent radio programs.
